Declan McKenna 'What Happened To The Beach?' Album Campaign

Album artwork / limited edition variations / physical insert photos / press photos

For this album, I conceptualised, location scouted and shot artwork photos and surrounding press pictures. We wanted to create a retro-futuristic world that suited Declan's album with imagery that felt both organic and futuristic, mostly in its digital feel  and rendering of colour. The album evoked feelings of alienation and discovery, which was my goal for the photos. We used a metal detector to symbolise this, and shot the primary artwork using natural light and reflectors in a green field. Colours were saturated on the verge of sickliness to accompany the more electronic elements in the album. We worked with collage artist Lola Duper for the back cover of the physical.
